
The establishment of the Korea-Myanmar TVET Teacher Training Institute (KMTTTI) is the project through the cooperation of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Republic of Korea. To build and promote the capacity of TVET teachers in Myanmar, this project was proposed in 2013, through DTVE overseen by the Ministry of Science and Technology at that time; now it is DTVET under the supervision of the Ministry of Education. The root of this project is “Records of Discussion between the Department of Technical, Vocational Education and Training (DTVET) of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and the Korea International Cooperation Agency of the Republic of Korea (KOICA)”, signed by the representatives of both parties on September 1, 2015, in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar.
To achieve the objective of the project, KOICA supports the following activities during the implementation of the project.
- Building Infrastructures like workshops, teaching aids, and instruments
- Dispatch Korean experts to Myanmar to implement and support the project
- Conduct the invitation program in Korea and on-site training courses in Myanmar for government officials and technical teachers
- Hold the international workshop to evaluate and promote the project
During the implementation stage, all of the Human ware, Hardware, and Software has been built step by step alongside the cooperation of DTVET and KOICA. KMTTTI is intended to open in the 2021-22 academic year and all the preparation works are executed enthusiastically by respective stakeholders.
